A rescue operation was carried out in Galveston on Thursday evening. Students from Houston ISD were stranded on a roller coaster at Pleasure Pier. The incident occurred when the ride stopped mid-ride, leaving the students in need of assistance.

Crews responded to the scene at around 5:30 p.m. and used a ladder truck to rescue the stranded riders. There were eight students rescued in total.
